"From Visionary Rides to Electric Mobility: Sandeep's Journey with Marlin"
Sandeep, a passionate businessman with an eye for new technologies, noticed a bike-like bicycle on a foreign tour and saw its potential in India. This led him to introduce the fat bike to India, founding the Marlin Bikes brand, which is now well-respected. After the success of Marlin Bikes, Sandeep focused on electric bikes, developing an 'Electric Tricart' for last-mile delivery for a popular online shopping portal.
This initiated the journey introducing the fat bike to India. A journey that has its high and lows but as a milestone saw the foundation of the Marlin Bikes brand. A brand that today is extremely popular and well respected in business circles.
Having ensured the Marlin Bikes was a success Sandeep sensed that Electric bikes could be the next big thing. He spent the new few years strengthening his business network and gaining expertise in the electric mobility vertical. The team at Marlin bikes was able to develop an ‘Electric Tricart’ to facilitate last mile delivery for a popular online shopping portal.
Meanwhile the assignment at HAL was becoming monotonous, for Muzakkir and he decided to move on to the next challenge. A thought that kept Muzakkir and team busy for a while is the never ending quest of improving the efficiency of the petrol engine.
For a country obsessed with mileage, this quest seemed a worthy cause. But soon the group realized that to modify the existing petrol engine required deep pockets and large facilities. So the obvious next step was to invest the team’s intellect in Electric Vehicles.
Since both the founders were working in the same space, they decided to join forces which led to the formation of Marlin Motocorp with an intention to reducing dependency on fossil fuel and take move things to the next level
But that was hardly a challenging task. Buy components off the shelf, a motor here a controller there, and what isn’t available in India can be purchased from elsewhere, hardly innovative or contemporary
But the team at Marlin hardly does things the simple tried and tested way, they have resolved to come up with a cost effective solution that improves the current dynamic, corrects the problems caused in the past, provides a reliable ride AND is completely MADE IN INDIA!
